An Irish Greeting
"When I got my Ancestry DNA results back it demystified my origins. You see, I'm from the south, and there, they tell us that we're 1/8 Cherokee, native, etc., but it's all a lie," went on the man enthusiastically.
"Turns out, I'm 99% white," he continued, poking forward the cane he was leaning on. "And 1% black, which did not go well with my relatives," he emphasized, leaning over and flashing a smirk as if accomplishing a great feat.
He bid me farewell in Irish.
